Curvaceous & inviting, warm red tones make a sumptuous eating environment
Quality dining is as much about the surroundings as the food which it enhances. This commercial restaurant project doubled the available covers, created a contemporary internal space and extended the season with significant commercial impact. A tired stone barn was transformed into a fabulous space with curved stairs and recessed serpentine curved upper floor open to double height entrance foyer to counter the angular constrained space. "Curves are notoriously difficult to resolve naturally in angular spaces. Here it worked really well. The serpentine upper floor rests structurally on an old wine cuve, which has been turned into a display walk-in wine cave. A vibrant orange/red accent colour creates a warm cosy feel perfect for atmosphere and ambience"
